Here in the Middle East, too often we get driven to despair, and fall into corporate way of thinking – this is the way it was, the way it is, and the way it will be…And sometimes we get positive vibes from the grassroots, the start-ups.
Yesterday witnessed the best of both worlds. Due to the powerful leadership of my friend Daniel Lubetsky, co-founder of OneVoice, start-up technology and thinking was put to its best use. With the crème de la crème of global leadership gathered in Davos, a panel discussion was held between Palestinian President Abbas, Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, Israeli Grand Poobah Shimon Peres, and World Economic Forum founder Klaus Shwabe. Thanks to web broadcasting, I was able to sit in Jerusalem and watch the powerful words spoken in Davos, the deeply felt yearnings for peace. What made the messages of these important figures even more poignant is that they were prompted to respond in real time to an opening video broadcast coordinated and produced by OneVoice, featuring hundreds of young people in Jerusalem, Ramallah, and Tel Aviv, praying AND WORKING together for peace.
Now without further ado, please see the eye-opening video broadcast as seen by those gathered in Davos yesterday (link is here or press on the big play button below). Just a quick note, besides the thousands gathered in Davos, the YouTube hosted version of this broadcast has already been viewed 43 THOUSAND TIMES. Lets hope all people in the Middle East, and especially in Israel and Palestine, can see and be influenced:
